—LAURA KREITZER, AUTHOR OF THE TIMELESS SERIES
When the WEATHER WITCH series first debuted in 2013 under the banner of St. Martin's Press, an imprint of Macmillan, I only knew that I wanted to write a story that was somewhat steampunk and yet not steampunk, and definitely something about revolution, rebellion, and resistance.
Inside these new covers you’ll find the original WEATHER WITCH content, with only minor changes.
We expect the new and expanded editions to release in 2026, and will include extras similar to those in the updated 13 TO LIFE.
Sometimes rebellion is the only thing able to right the sinking ship of a once-proud republic gone wrong.
Some fled the Old World to avoid war, and some fled to leave behind magick. Yet even the fiercely regulated and stormpowered New World cannot staunch the power that wells up in certain people, influencing the weather and calling down storms. Hunted, the Weather Witches are forced to power the rest of the population’s ships, as well as their every necessity, and luxury, in a time when steam power is repressed.
Jordan Astraea of Philadelphia hails from a background with no taint of magick, but on her seventeenth birthday she is accused of summoning an unscheduled storm. Taken from her family, Jordan is destined to be enslaved as a Conductor — an airliner’s living battery. Her beau, Rowen, finds himself forced aboard a different airliner — manned by a dangerous crew and carrying a cargo so treasonous, it will herald a storm of revolution for the still young United States.
Breaking Jordan may prove to be the very thing her carefully constructed society cannot weather. And the risk of losing Jordan forever may force Rowen to be the hero he would have never otherwise dared become.
In the intrigue-filled follow up to Weather Witch, Jordan Astraea, once a young Philadelphia lady of good social standing, is now in the final stages of her brutal training to become a Conductor—the Weather Witch who serves as a living battery to keep the massive airliner Artemesia aloft. Meanwhile, Rowen, determined to rescue her after losing his only other true friend and being wanted for murder, has found himself forced aboard a much different air vessel, this one manned by a dangerous crew and carrying a cargo so treasonous, that, if finding its destination, will herald a storm of revolution for the still young United States.
With a spirit for adventure, romance, fantastic world building and cunning imagination, Shannon Delany delivers the sensational follow up to Weather Witch in Stormbringer, the second book of the trilogy.
“Readers who liked the first novel will enjoy the fleshed-out world.” - Kirkus Reviews
Jordan, Rowen and the crews of both the Tempest and the Artemesia strike out for Philadelphia to start a revolution aimed at abolishing slavery and changing their stormpowered society to one that runs on previously repressed steam innovations and will allow for true equality. But can Jordan and Rowen come back together after all the things determined to drive them apart?
Thunderstruck is the third installment in the Weather Witch series from Shannon Delany.
